The magic of Dugi Otok (Long Island) and bay of Brbišćica in a beautiful country of Croatia has been placed under the Government protection because of the findings of the dinosaur fossils that lived here.

An island of natural and human phenomena

On the west side is a wonderful combination of coves Čune, Pantera, Solišćica to Sakarun inscribed in the most beautiful bays in the world with a beach that has no equal, and an impressive lighthouse on the Great War.

Dinosaurs (hadrosauri) from Long Island

Although Croatia has about twenty traces of dinosaurs, the most impressive and most massive on the Brijuni Islands, they are traces, ie the remains of the feet of these reptiles. Brbišćica Bay was joined to them and placed with them in the Register of Protected Minerals and Fossils. However, Bribiščica is unique among them because in 2011 fossils or fossilized bones of dinosaurs were found there, in this case hadrosaurs.  Mr. Donat Petricioli discovered fossils of hadrosaurs with numerous fish fossils here west of Brbinj in their bay Brbišćica. Along with the remains of fossil material stored in the Natural History Museum, the most important find, the fossil reptile remained here, found in the tidal zone, on the rock exposed to the impact of the waves, so it needs to be protected.

Brbiščica Bay is a quiet place to enjoy and a small Robinson Crusoe jewel of Dugi Otok. A few minutes further, other spells or stunning caves are hidden under the steep cliffs. Access is possible only from the sea by swimming, diving or kayaking (if you bow your head) to experience the fascinating beauty of the Dragon's Eye and the Dove. The dove is a special phenomenon because after a narrow passage from the sea it opens to the view, and from the opening in the ceiling at different times of the day and time the sun's rays create luxurious and always different spectacle of colors in her womb.
